IMTS 2024 Conference Presentation

IMTS 2024 Conference Presentation

In addition to our presence on the show floor as an IMTS exhibitor, Kubotek Kosmos will also be involved in the technical conference held in conjunction with the Chicago event, the IMTS 2024 Conference. Ram Eswaran, our CTO and COO, will be presenting on "Data Exchange Best Practices."

CAD Data Exchange Best Practices
Monday, September 9, 2:15 PM – 3:10 PM CT (local time), Room W193-B

The presentation will review the challenges to data quality and sharing of CAD data across the extended enterprise and provide guidance on overcoming them. There are many challenges to the successful sharing of accurate CAD data, including translation of a file between platforms, translation to a neutral standard such as STEP, or even version compatibility of two files authored on the same platform but at different times. As trends such as model-based definition (MBD) and other machine-readable approaches continue to drive changes to manufacturing, the importance of accurately exchanging data between the platforms necessary for a given production process grows more complex all the time.

Ram's expertise in this field comes in part from his decades of work developing software technologies for the engineering and manufacturing fields. In particular, his spearheading of the development of the Kubotek Kosmos 3D Framework, a geometry kernel and CAD translation library developed from the ground up to provide the most advanced interoperability available. Ram is also involved in several standards committees and organizations that address interoperability and 3D data fidelity, including CAx-IF STEP implementers forum, LOTAR, PDF Association, 3D Collaboration and Interoperability Congress, and Global Product Data Interoperability Summit.

Kubotek Kosmos is exhibiting at IMTS 2024, in the East Hall at Booth #133151. Along with Mr. Eswaran, our top software development staff will also be present to answer questions about the 3D Framework and its capabilities. We're also excited to discuss the upcoming release of KeyCreator 2025, the latest update to our long-established direct modeling CAD product, which incorporates 3D Framework translation technology. The Framework also forms the basis of our family of MBD utilities: Validate, Revision, and View/Convert.
